ePortfolios
Students in South Hill's fifth grade will each develop an ePortfolio of work. An ePortfolio is a dynamic website, designed and maintained by the students, using the Weebly website building website. On his/her website, a student will showcase their work through the display of artifacts, which may be photographs, videos, written work, or hyperlinks to online work. Each entry also includes a self-evaluation; students will reflect on the learning which each entry in their portfolio demonstrates. ePortfolios will serve to facilitate sharing of student work and practice 21st century digital literacy skills. We hope to have students present their ePortfolios to parents at parent/teacher conferences.
Skills to use when you are building your ePortfolio
Making a folder in your Google Drive
Using the Camera on Your Chromebook: take a picture, then add it to your site.
The video below shows how to take a photograph of an artifact that you would like to include in your ePortfolio using your Chromebook. You need to save the photo to your ePortfolio folder in your Google drive, then name it. In the video, Ms. Belle then posts the photo to this website and adds a reflection about why this artifact should be included on her site. You can see the actual photo and reflection to the right of the video.
